There all great actors, but Jack Nicholson and Dustin Hoffman are not from the 50's there were not Brando's contemporanies, they are from the sixties. They are also not the same age as brando. Marcelo debuted earlier then Brando and So did Clift. Clift was the oldest.

The greatest ever hell yes! what was even more amazing was hiss assesment of things. Maybe he just acted for the money but he set the bar period and changed all the rules! No wonder he is every actors favorite actor. I quote the word artist is tossed around like a football and thats true but he really was an artist the greatest ever! God bless his soul for making us feel never will there be another Brando never period.

Marlon Brando is definitely da best method actor of all. His only competition is Laurence Olivier, wich is theatrical. But to me, in my personal opinion, da best actor in da history of da silver screen is Montgomery Clift (Man). There are lots of talented actresses.

He should have won 5. I mean Streetcar, Julius Caesar, Waterfront, Godfather, Last Tango. Its all political. His performances were better than whom ever he was up against. The best part was he did't care about it. He's the man.
